Default Best cold weather tire for FI?

Whats up S2Ki. I'm looking for recommendations/experiences on cold weather rubber and FI. Would a "winter" tire or "high performance all weather tire" be best? Thanks for all the input.

Winter tires and "high performance all weather tires" (no such thing, btw) just have deeper treads or treads designed to cut through the snow better. It'd be best to stick with standard good rubber (Z1 Star Specs, Hankook RS-3s or V-12 Evos, Potenza RE-11s, Kumho XS) and not drive hard on them until the tires are warmed up. I'm aware that some tires do perform better in the cold.

I'm assuming you don't drive your car in any snow.

Most tires on the market lose a significant amount of grip at those temp levels. You're fighting nature at that point also as the ground is also in the colder temp ranges.

boost by gear and a nice tire is your best bet. i run r comps on the street, but i dont drive this car in sub 40 degree temps. and 40-60 degree temps maybe three times a year lol.

I ran my Star Specs in 34 degree weather on the Dragon and they held quite nicely. I am N/A however.

I can tell you I was getting on it HARD through every corner and they held with confidence.

They do great in the rain with full tread, but I can't say how they'd do in the snow. :/
