Are you going to use the AutoMeter as a complete A-pillar replacement? I would definitely be interested in seeing that. The SOS pillar is huge and the gauges point back rather than pointing at the driver.

yes i agree. the SOS pillar seemed like it was bulky and the space behind the gauges weren't actually needed. not sure if this was a design flaw, or extra precaution for part of the gauge mounting hardware(?). from what i noticed, the gauges don't need any sort of mounting hardware since they have a real snug fit in the gauge pods. took me an hour to get both gauges out and swapped over to the autometer gauge pod.

i followed what one of the others said above and used it as a direct replacement. used double stick tape to swap over the vent on the stock A-pillar. i also used 1 holding clip on the top portion of the gauge pod to hold it in place. im sure you can get away with using double stick tape, but i haven't had any luck with double stick tape on my car, especially with parking in the sun. rather have it done properly than becoming an issue later

i did get photos of how it is currently mounted. i'll upload photos shortly

Sorry to revive this! But man that A pillar gauge pod is so clean and exactly what I'm looking for, in RHD trim. Where'd you get it and for how much? Is/was it simply a matter of removing the OEM A pillar trim and snapping that one in to the stock mounting points?

That's the one from Autometer. Part number 22443. It is an overlay to the OEM one. Fits perfectly. Requires drilling of one small hole near the top to insert a push pin to retain it to the OEM pillar. I have this one and drilled two holes to hold it better...although not required. I compared this one in person to the one from SOS and the Autometer pod looks much better in my opinion.

I put an MY08 center console into my MY04 but I converted the center defrost to my garage door opener. I just jumped the switch on the opener circuit board and screwed the opener circuit into the underside of the console.

I used the Autometer unit but glued it over an oem panel that I bought from a part out. I added a pod to it for my Boost gauge. My AFR gauge is in the dash.

I used the OEM inner panel to mount the connectors for my gauge power and sensor input.
