Its all relative. I've done hours of research trying to find the right sleeves for me. For me, it was between AEBS, Benson, Darton.

I chose to go with the Benson sleeves because of their open deck design which I felt was paramount, more so than 40psi. I sacrificed the super high boost levels which I would never reach anyway for unhindered cooling.

That being said I went with Laskey.

interesting point

I really wondered if anyone here yet has had closed deck style sleeves and has had any problems in cooling and also any deformation towards the top of the cylinder wall as a result of overheating, as one of the purposes for open deck is to cool more efficiently towards the top of the cylinder where combustion takes place.

Anybody?

So laskeyracing uses open deck style sleeves because they distort less.
Yet a closed deck style block i stronger for high boost.

its a matter of trade off although if sleeves distort, you pretty much end up with useless crap as well.

Indeed. He's currently building my 2.1L beast. At least that's what I hope it to be. Add 982734 weeks to any builder's estimated time. These things take forever! Not their fault though, because its the manufacterers and suppliers that usually hold them up. Last I heard my block was waiting in line at Benson.

I think anything by AEBS is suspect. I live in San Diego, hometown of AEBS, and they have a pretty poor reputation for messing people's cars up. I wouldn't trust them at all.
