Default best slick tire setup

So for a mid 10 sec S, which tire/wheel route should I be heading towards? Welds w/MT? or will the ap1 wheel be efficient enough on Mickey Thomas street radials. For my street class should I save over a thousand bucks by using the stock 16" wheel? Or will this be a poor short cut? I am gonna be running the 8.8 via v160. Kinda makes sense to go with a pro drag wheel setup, but a lot of guys on this forum swear up n dwn the 16" rear wheels are the way to go with 255/50r16 MT Drag radial. Confused.

Champion racing wheels and still have food money left rather than buy welds. Same weight.

Look into prostars with a radial tire that should do good for a mid 10 sec car i believe i paid 190 or 180 per rim or if ur interested in slicks check out M&H 26x10 or M/T 26x10.5 ur gonna need front runners with the slick if u decide to go that route

Stock 16's with drag radials was enough for me to snap my axle at the track when i finally hooked. Its the way to if you're on a budget. Most people have been able to pull 10 sec times with no issues on this set up. Advantages are that most people have or can get rear 16" stocks pretty quick and DR in that size are pretty cheap.

If money is no object then yes. i set of custom cut drag wheels like welds would be best.
