you've got the wrong car if your searching for a cheap solution to make low-end torque AND to retain the punch in the higher rpms.

Thanks all for reply, information is very useful.

The idea is to put a K20 or K24 NA into my Exige S1 (1763 lb). I use the car only for trackday and touge mountain, personal use, not competition.
I'd like to optimize the NA engine bit a bit for, later, upgrade to turbo or compressor.

The car is very light so i don´t need +300hp and so much torque, but i´d like to use all revs with at least some punch... (and feel hard the VTEC power).

Many conversion-workshops are using Rotrex compressors to get 300hp but... these cars feels very linear (without VTEC feeling) and with little torque in all revs...
That´s the reason for i ask for a turbo.

Torque Obsessed - timg - FD85; SOT, Vortech or SOS looks like a great options.

Sorry for my English.

Yeah, I just got the GReddy and LOVE the new torque. Went from 150 torque at the VTECH switchover to 215 torque at 3800. 43% increase in torque down where it is readily available without having to downshift. Even cruising on the freeway you are right there in RPMs, ready to scoot! The smaller turbos (and a great tune) will give you this, but you won't be able to brag about WHP. My GReddy with stock exhaust/cat peaked at 265 whp up from 215 whp. A welcome increase, to be sure, but not the monster some would like.
VTEC not VTECH.

I'd recommend a GT3071R with a good tubular manifold. Spools early, plenty of torque and has the legs for top end if and when you want it.

If u want low end and high end power get those ivtec cams that came out a couple months ago.... their test car was turbo and it made peak torque at 3000 rpm if I remember correctly...

Hi @ all

I´m trying to find the best "torque" turbo but it´s imposible, there are so much specs, graphs...
I would like to get maximum number of torque at lowrevs but without losing punch in highrevs. I don´t want so much HP, the figure good for me would be 300hp.

Thanks in advance !
Can't have both. Gotta compromise on one or the other. Best of both worlds is the GT30/5857 size turbo

Then it'd be a VW.
