FWIW there are ppl in the evo world that autoX with ET street radials. At the dsm/evo Shootout you have to run the same tire for 1/4 and autoX so they choose this tire.

Well, a friend brought over his 18" NT-01's for reference, and we did some measurements, based on what I've got, and his, and given the 275/40 is going to be taller on my same 8.5" rim, and I am already rubbing my 255/40 with the +48 offset rim I've got, I don't think I am gonna push it.

I've got TEIN's on the car, and it's got a very MILD drop, but when I hit a decent bump now, it will rub, and I don't want to compound the issue with a taller/bigger tire.

So I'm pretty sure, I am gonna stick with the 255's given the rim and clearance issue I've got. I think if I could pickup a set of +30'ish offset rims, I would be able to run the taller tire and not have any issues.

But hindsight...and my $450 dollar purchase would be over $1000 with new rims as well. So 255 it is.

255/40/17 is 25.3 and I think 275/40/18 is bigger than 27" isn't it ?

I think you will be fine with the R888s in that size (your original size now)

Got the car back on the road this weekend, first day out Since last Oct. She did well, fighting an idle issue, I'll post more on that later.

Turned boost down to work out the bugs from sitting/etc. 13lbs, and she ripped through the tires easily. So I am gonna order the tires this week I do believe.

My old tires are officially shot.

Most 255/40/17 are 25.0 inche tires. Depending on the brand most 275/40/17 are 25.5-25.7. My 275/40/17 nitto nt05 are only 25.5.

My personal opinion on NT05's, is that they are awesome til 50% tread left. Then they seem to lose all grip.
NT01's, I have never used yet but there is a brand new set waiting in my garage.
Toyo R88, is the way I went with my new wheels... once again haven't run them yet. But a good friend of mine runs 295's on his 800hp M3, and thats what made me get them. Gripppy.

There's always the option of a hoosier R6, I know a couple of guys that run those on the street. Just don't get caught in the rain lol.
Or like boosted said, MT streets.

All teh research I've read, and people's comments is that the R888's are to loud for cars on the street.
