Default Is BKR8EIX / 2668 the right plug? - Vortech SC

I'm making an appointment to have the PO's tune checked out on my car and figure I should get some proper plugs beforehand. Currently it has PFR78s.

After a few hours of research it looks like the NGK BKR8EIX left at the out of the box gap is probably the best way to go. Is that correct? Since these are iriduim (and 3x more expensive than BKR7Es) can I expect a longer change interval than ~3k miles?

Your prize for clicking on my thread and hopefully posting a response is these sparkplugs.com coupons I found:

15% off - 15clublex
$5 off - sr20509

Yes that's the right part number. Not sure what gap SC's like to run. My turbo car is at .26 on those plugs.

According to this regapping these plugs is a bad idea

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry16199242

Stock gap on a BKR8EIX is ~.030-.032.

This is xviper talking about SC gaps but in relation to 7173 plugs:

I set mine at 0.034" because mine is a daily driver and I'm not "on
it" all the time. Those who drive in "boost" a lot would do better to
go closer to 0.030".

You will be PERFECT with these plugs and the pre gapping at .030 is right on.
Yes they also last longer... Up to 10k miles I would say.

you can gap the iridium plugs, you just have to be careful not to break the center electrode.

they will last a LONG time unless you foul them out. no plug will last if its fouled out. the center electrode will wear down, but all you'll need to do is reset the gap, no need to replace.

These are what I run and with the .30-.32 gap out of the box. I check mine once in a wile and they always look fresh/tan. I've got about 20k on them now. No need to replace as far as I can see, gap is still good.
