Got the Vortech V2 with the 4.5 pulley pushing 338 hp and 207 pounds of torque at the wheels.

Do I need to worry about blowing second gear? I never launch it and try not to grind any gears and rarely if ever do.

Should I take it easy going into second from first? Is it while in second and boosting? Is it moving out to 3rd? Should I never push 2nd and then push in 3rd? Its just the roads are so tight and short here, second is a great around town gear to really push the car.

No. you should be fine.

 

YEAH, you'll be fine. I have 8 more lbs of torque then you running 12psi and drive the crap out of my car autocrossing in mostly 2nd gear.

 

Just don't drive it like an animal and you'll be fine

All them blown second gear threads have me paranoid.

But most of them seem to be pushing 300lbs of TQ. So Im good!

Any more opinions?

 

405/240 here hard shifts at the strip. Think ur right u need to be making 300+tq to really worry. And if ur not slamming gears super hard I wouldn't worry.
