I need to know the differences and/or pros and cons of a turbocharged f20c vs f22c

the 2.2 will spool your turbo faster. It will also make a bit more power. You can safely run the 2.2 engine to 8600 rpms, however i would not do it with the ap1 ecu, especially since your turbo. So AEM ems would probably be a better choice. ap2 cams are also better for boost anyways.

The better idea would be to rebuild your motor and made it bullitproof w/ low compression pistons etc. etc.

I think I would rather run a stock motor with low boost than build a motor. I've dealt with built motors on my del sol and its just not worth it IMO to spend 4-5gs at least building a motor just to boost it more and have an even bigger bill when something else decides to let go. That is why im looking at getting either an AP1 or AP2 motor and running low boost again

I WAS running 7.5-8psi on a completely stock f20c motor. I've heard you can run up to 14psi or 400-500whp with a 3mm headgasket. I know you could probably push the stock motor to produce more hp. But i want to keep it safe.... BTW Are both these figures relative to both the f20c and f22c?

So with the AP1 what updated need to be done to make it "reliable" I heard problems of poor bottom end lubrication problems....Any outstanding problems with the AP2 engines as well?

Upgrade the crank case oil squirter bolts if it is a MY00-01 engine. MY02-03 had a 4-hole design vs. a 2 hole. More flow. I believe the PCV valve will also need to upgraded with either a Supra one, or something like a Krank Vent. Also, the stock MAP sensor I believe is only a 1-BAR unit, so if you are boosting higher numbers, you will want a 3-BAR... that is all I can remember...

Kpro's boost cut FTW, I know it hurts loosing the money but sounds like a real ems would have saved you money in the long run.

How bad is the AP1 block damaged? Pistons toast, spin any bearings? Let me know if you want to sell the AP1 block

Yeah your right, even a boost guage with a warning light or chime would have saved me...I havn't ripped it apart just yet cause I dont have room in my garage for another week...I looked into the cylinders with a flashlight though and the tops of the pistons still look a nice color and theres no chunks or filings...however i can see the odd sparkle from the spark plug material.

like others have said, with a f22, your turbo will spool sooner, you'll make more torque at the same rpm etc.

I would highly recommend you go with an EMS, as you could have forgone this issue with over-boost, as EMS can be programmed to have a Load limiter! I had the bolt loosen on my wastegate, which allowed the turbo to over-boost and the motor just cut out instead of over boosting and blowing the engine!
