Default Bolt on kit

Is there such a thing as a bolt on kit where you don't have to mess with internals? I don't want to mess with the engine but would like more power. I don't need a 600whp dyno queen, just some more oomph.

holy ****ing shit, this is the 2nd or 3rd thread within the past 5 days asking about forced induction being a bolt of affair. #@$#%^$&*^$#(%#!^@ SEARCH GOD DAMN IT!

Ok, since you're not going to search:

Supercharger is bolt on affair and will give you usually 350-380ish whp, extremely reliable.

Turbocharging is also bolt on affair as long as you keep stock headgasket which means you won't be boosting over 10psi, but will still make 370-390whp safely. There are a handful of guys running 12-14 psi on stock headgaskets that haven't had problems that I'm aware of, but it is usually frowned on by the rest of the community b/c running that much boost on a stock hg is running very close to 'the edge' of whats safe. If you want more than 400whp RELIABLY, then going with a 3mm HG will be your best bet. Inline PRO makes a great bolt on turbo kit you can get, all you'll need is an EMS and a clutch to handle the power.

If you want to keep stock injectors, you're looking at being limited to ~330whp or a little less...depending on if you go turbo or supercharger. I think stock injector supercharged AP1s only make between 280-300whp actually.

BTW: Search next time to avoid flames.

I tried to search but there is way too much to filter through u nless I want to spend hours wasting time.

So with a bolt on kit nothing is changed, (injectors, headers, etc.) right?

I assume a supercharger is more reliable than turbo?

How much are these kits?

What is an EMS?

If you consider searching for information wasting your time, you are in the wrong place.

If you don't know what an EMS is, you are in the wrong place.

If you think that changing out the 'headers' means its not a 'bolt on' kit, you're in the wrong place.

I'm not going to answer your questions from the ground up, thats what researching on your own is for.

A point in the right direction: back out of this thread, then look towards the top of this page, you will see a link for FAQs for Forced Induction thread, click on it and look at whats in there.
your a douche- and you are in the wrong place. It takes you longer to lecture the poor guy on how to ****in search, than to just answer his question in the first place.

Search on s2ki blows- I usually end up sifting thru numerous threads that have nothin to do with what im looking for.

To answer your question- there are a few supercharger kits available that are simple bolt on applications. Those same simple bolt on applications can be upgraded by smaller pulleys, larger injectors and stand alone engine management but its not necessary unless your wanteing more boost than the stock kit is set up for. Try reading up on the vortech or comptech kits, Im sure you could find either of the kits new or used with a little effort.

Thanks, yeah the search on this site blows.

Also the FAQ is mostly comparing turbo vs supercharger, and different brands within superchargers and turbos.

So it is possible to have a kit without standalone management?

Pipe down. Your post is reminiscent of a pack of 3rd graders yelling at each other.

yep- both comptech and vortech's kits were made to be bolt on with everything you need to run safely right out of the box. The only time you need to upgrade anything is when you want to run a higher than standard boost level. 7 psi is said to be the max the kit will handle before needing additional engine management and larger injectors.

excellent, just what I was looking for, thanks.

Both kits available through inline pro?

I tried reading about the comptech vs vortech thread but it seems the information is very old, is it still relevent or are there new versions of the kits?

Inline Pro manufactures and sells their own kit- you will have to go thru www.comptechusa.com or www.vortechsuperchargers.com if oyu want a supercharger.

There has been talk of Comptech closing its doors, but ive also heard talk about them remaining open, either way information on their kits are available at thier website, and im sure you could find a used kit in the for sale forums.
