Default Boony's Thread

It was suggested that I start a thread here, so here I am. My intro to the forum is here.

I just picked up a 2002 with just 25,000 miles - car is next to perfect, beautiful and a blast. It has a Comptech Supercharger (Novi 1000), no aftercooler, DC Sports header and exhaust (with cat), Stage 3 clutch - all installed in 2003 by 2nd owner when it had 13 to 14,000 miles. I picked up a set of AP2 wheels locally the day after I got it home.

I am mechanically inclined. As a youngster, I handled everything on my cars including tearing my '71 Firdbird's engine down to the bare block and putting it back together again. My 1st real job was a mechanic at a Chevy dealer (I did get fired though). But, I do not have any experience with what is now my new baby and new hobby. Fuel injection, forced induction, car computers - I know nothing. Any help or support will be greatly appreciated.

I live in Birmingham, AL - no performance shops specializing in Hondas. But I stopped by a shop today to pick up a AFR gauge and the owner really spent a lot of time with me for a $200 sale and one of his mechanics has a background with Hondas. So, I am giving his shop a shot. Next week they're going to install the ARF guage for me and put it on the dyno and make sure everything is okay.

Took the kick panel off tonight to see if any EMS changes were made. Stock EMS, but I found a Comptech ESM, which I assume is for adjusting the tune.

Thank you for the support already received. Great to be part of such an informative forum.

hot car. depending on your plans. that afr gauge and a tweak of the fmu might be all that you need to enjoy many years of fun.

if you want to mod it though let us know. there is a very easy path to more power

Wow, what a gem! Such excellent condition and everything is so clean!

Comptech stopped selling their SC kit with just the straight pipe from the blower to the throttle body and started solely selling the kits with their now standard water/air aftercooler. I would suggest looking into investing in an aftercooler setup in order to keep your intake air temperatures in check, especially living down in hot ol' B-ham.
