Well to answer the question, I got a 44mm wastegate fitted so boost holds fine now. One of these days I need to get my AEM tuned to control boost...so much more accurate then my EBC.

yeah, I just brought it back because I knew he fitted a wg44 onto his inline manifold, just wounder if it was actually ported or not. Does it benefit the car to add a bigger wg to the manifold with out porting? Does it help at all cause I would think it would be the same size hole the air has to pass through. Any advice would be helpful. I have seen adapters for a 38 to 44. Could that work.

Hole was never ported, just increased the wastegate size and it did the trick.

if no one suggested it... try taking the dumptube off and see if it still spikes... if your able to that is of course

I have noticed you can get a 38 to 44 adapter. Then I guess I would need a new dump tube if I went the direction of getting a bigger WG.

Correct, however I had a custom flange / pipe made since the 44 doesn't fit directly where the 38mm was (it's a bit bigger). And yes, you will need to fab up a new larger dump tube.
