that doesnt seem possible with the stock map sensor, let alone the stock motor

There isn't much more I can do without more info. Check the wastegate line and report back.

Take the MAP off and clean the channel that supplies air to it from the throttle body. Spray some throttle body cleaner in it. See if that helps.
