Default Boost gauges

Hi

Okay I have a SOS dual gauge pod, one if the pods has an AEM wideband gauge in, the other a Autogauge boost gauge. Like this...

Now I know the boost gauge won't register much, unfortunately I've tried 2, one I was given the other I bought.

Neither seem to be setup for psi, so spend most of their life in the vacuum side frown.gif they just seem to convert bar to psi.

Seems at the highest point/max boost the gauge would register 0.4 ie 7psi of boost, 14psi in 1 bar.

I wouldn't of bothered if I had a single pod nevertheless I think it's usuful for belt slip, I doubt you could hear it or possibly feel it at high revs and also with the noise.

Can anyone recommend any ideally outputting 1,2,3...7 psi.

Thanks

AEM 0-30psi guage will do you just fine. they have a digital guage that will tell you in .1's how much psi its reading.

AJ here is the boost gauge I use, its proven to be very accurate and provides the readings your looking for. Mine has a boost recall button though and this one doesn't for some reason, which is kind of too bad since its nice in determining belt slip easily. I couldn't find one that does, but if this one interest you for the price, I can vouch for it.

On a s/c application a boost guage isn't a necessity like it is on a turbo car imo.

For the record, you will feel a belt slip.

The car will fall on it's face, or you will feel it "jerk". Hard to explain, but once you know the car you will detect it pretty easily. Plus you'll tend to see more belt dust then usual once it starts to slip.

^^^ exactly. The boost recall button is a nice feature as mentioned, otherwise you have to watch your boost gauge and rpms at the same time wile trying to look at the road. Not an ideal way to verify belt slip. Belt slip is usually not detectable by feel unless severe which it usually isn't after its been set. The typical scenario is it only starts to slip high in the rpms/close to redline over time, so a sudden drop off isn't detectable. I will usually notice my afrs drop a bit since I watch these more often and that will signal me to check my boost recall after a redline test run and will verify that I'm down typically 1-2psi from belt slip. To say that a boost gauge on a SC car isn't even needed is rather silly. If you could only pick two gauges to run with an SC, Wideband and boost baby.

I have one that goes to 20, Its a Autometer, you can have it for $20 +Shipping. I went with a 30PSI, not that I am going to boost that high, but I might toy with low low 20's
