Default BORG s257sxe vs s362sxe AP1

hey guys I’m currently running a inline pro sidewinder T4 set up. Got a s362xse running 14 psi. Untuned. Car is a daily driver and planning on only drag racing it not auto crossing it.

My question is im thinking about going down a few turbo sizes to the s257xse for some quicker spool and not having to change any of my piping. Both turbos on 14psi what do you all think the power difference would be?? I know the s362xse flows more air and feels great on the top end. But The s362xse feels to laggy for me even with only a .68 hot side. Coming from my old setup I had a gt3076r on 12psi making 433whp, Want a more peppy turbo. Or you all think maybe getting a tune with the s362xse would help with the lag some? Thanks here’s some pics

I'm currently running a 257sxe twinscroll. I cant comment on open scroll but I can tell you if you want to get to that same power level on a 257sxe on a twinscroll you need a ~ 1.06ar housing or it chokes the top end. I first ran a .89 twinscroll. It was AMAZING as a daily driver. Thing made boost leaving the stop light, but the top end suffered as it just couldnt flow enough out the exhaust. I previously ran a 6262 and made 508hp @16psi. Never dyno'd the 257sxe, on the .89 housing I just adjusted the tune and was running 23psi im guessing it was in the neighborhood of 450hp. I wouldn't recommend it with a housing that small though

I’m running a s257 on a twinscroll manifold with 1.22 a/r. Running at 13 psi.

Why do you say that? And that’s where Jeff felt comfortable for a safe reliable setup, so we stuck with that.

And actually I’m mistaken it is 12psi. But I’m running this setup on stock block/head so we had to keep it conservative. This winter I’m adding a direct injection meth setup and going back to get turned up. Hopefully hit around 550 whp.

Isn't the max flow rate 550hp? I would think max wheel power would be in the high 400s

I guess we will find out! Like I said the 450whp was a conservative tune as I told Jeff I want it to be as reliable as possible until I start digging into the engine and drivetrain. Also I was on 93 pump gas.

So I just looked up my turbo and it’s 220-580 hp. But don’t worry I’ll max it out and report back lol. I don’t know if it any different but I have a BW Airwerks s200sx 1.22 a/r.
