Default BOV isnt working right

For the past few weeks I have noticed that ever since I put my new turbo on my car and got it tuned that the bov doesn't sound right at all. From what I can tell, it is dumping some air out but it seems to flutter instead of the normal loud dump. (Its a greddy type s) at first I tried adjusting the spring from full tight to full soft and nothing helped so I swapped it out with a greddy rs I had laying around and it did the exact same thing. I can tell it is opening some but I can also tell I'm getting compressor surge... I hate this and gotta get it fixed. What am I missing??

Its possible that the diaphragm inside the BOV is ripped. When my greddy rs started to flutter I replaced it w/ a synapse.

what was the first bov that was flittering? if you tried two of them and both fluttering i would assume there is a leak somewhere in the vacuum line goin to the bov. have someone rev it up for you and watch it to see how far it opens, the flutter sound is because the bov isnt working right and making excess pressure come back out of the turbo inlet, which will doestroy your turbo over time.

The first bov was a greddy type s. I pulled it apart and checked the diaphragm but couldn't find any tears. That was my first thought. Although I guess its possible that both diaphragms ripped. And ill check the vaccuum lines for leaks then.
Btw, how do you like the synapse? I was considering tial. Call it ricer but I like to hear my bov also.

I love the Type-S look and sound. Have you removed the inner spring?

I changed to a synapse but only because superchargers make annoying whistle sounds at idle through regular bov's.

The synapse doesn't "tune" the noise, it just shoots out air and that has some sound too but nothing as cool.

I liked the sound of the synapse, it wasnt very loud, kind of middle of the road. Nothing wrong with a loud BOV though.

Definitely double check the vac line, I totally missed the part about you trying 2 BOV's somehow haha

Also a heads up on Synapse, There are 2 springs inside, small & huge. The small one will break & jam up the mechanism after a while. This will make it flutter.
Synapse told me I could just remove it totally to fix it. I replaced the spring, but it works both ways.

I've also had good luck with the Turbosmart Kompact BOV.
