Default break in

hello everyone
i am a bit comfused
i have a bensons sleeved block builded by Laskey racing.
with a few words Laskey suggest after the installation , check for leaks and then tow it to the tuner. (actually no break in. tune up to 9000rpm)

my tuner says that i will have no problem to baby drive the car to his shop since i was tuned already with similar setup and tune it up to 4000rpm. do at least 310miles break in and then do the final tune.

what do you think is the best to do ?

Im in a similar situation bro....If you were already tuned you should be fine to drive, just dont hit boost. Also, id recommend putting atleast 1000 miles on it before you retune @ WOT.

I also recommend 1000 km's or 1000 miles before wot.

Different engine builders tell you to do different break ins. Some say full boost to help the rings seat some say mild boost but full rpms everyone has a different opinion. I am a fan of the build then beat it.

break in procedure is highly debated, so just go with what u think is right or what ur tuner reccomends.

I suggest you go with the builders recommendations. Both Laskey and my tuner recommended break-in this way.

I broke-in my Laskey bottom end by dyno tuning with zero miles and driving it hard.

Wasn't this just recently discussed and the outcome was break it in on the dyno, that the motor should be built and ready to go.

i decided to tow the car to the tuner and tune it up to 4000rpm.
then break it in for about 300 miles and then tune again.
this way i will keep both my builder and my tuner happy

anyway Mike Laskey (which is a very nice guy to deal with) gave me the following answer:

The rings are a gas nitrited ring that do not need that kind of break in. But......as long as the car is tuned for how the car is driving, drive it as slow or fast for 10000000 miles for all you want. All I care about is that the car is tuned before any miles get put on the motor.
