Breaking loose turbine housing
Trying to re-clock my compressor housing. The center section feels like its welded to the turbine housing. Didnt have any PB Blaster last night, only wd40. What works for you guys to loosen the housing off the center section? I figure PB Blaster will work well, but thought I would ask. Started installing my new manifold last night and ran into this snag. The sooner I can break it loose the sooner I can be tuned and back on the road
Yeah sounds like a good idea and let it soak at bit.
I am real intrested to see the differnce in your manifolds, I guess are you gonna run the same turbo? I thought you were thinking about something a bit bigger.

Perhaps try bumping it lightly with a rubber mallet...or just brute strength. It will come off.
The 35r on my car had to be taken to a local shop with a bigger hammer to knock the exhaust housing off of it. We let it soak for days in PB and WD and no luck.
Hopefully yours will come off easier.
The guys at the turbo shop said it's pretty common, you just need to use "brute force"
