Default Broken Transmissions

I started this thread because we all have heard about how weak our transmissions are under boost ( or even stock for that matter) but there are never any details of where and what actually broke. For instance I've read that our tranny cases are weak and flex and will eventually crack but I can't find a picture of which part of the case is actually broken. I figured if we all post in this thread as much info as possible ( pics of damage and details) then we can all figure out where efforts can be made to beef up our stock trannys. I am currently putting down 616hp and have had luck not blowing up my trans but I know I'm on borrowed time. So if anyone would like to chime in please do. And let's try and stay on topic as there are plenty of threads regarding alternative transmission replacements.

IDK if its so much of a problem of the case breaking...as it is it flexing enough to seperate the main shaft and counter shaft, causing gears to get destroyed.

Well if I remember correctly joeyballs stuffed his trans with ppg gears and when his tranny broke it cracked the case. So after beefing up his tranny the next weak link was the case.

Straight cut gears a lot stronger but like to seperate under load unlike helical cut gears. So when you put strong straight cut gears in a stock case, the case will give allowing the shafts to seperate which takes out the gears as well.

You might also want to get in touch with racersteve on honda-tech. He heat treats gears and its been working out great for guys running k20s. I know he has done a few on s2ks but i have not heard anything about it.

I'm not debating the fact that his trans was good before he put the gears in.

I have killed second gear or second gear synchro and my latest box is leaking oil. I think the casing has a hairline crack in it. The rear housing had a hairline crack so I welded it up but still leaked so swapped rear section over to a good one and it's still leaking so main housing must be cracked. It's on the top of the casing for reference, it might of had a crack in it when I brought it secondhand but never looked that close at it. I'm thinking about going for PPG dog set but unsure. If I do I will weld bracing on to the case for strengthening. I'm running 455whp at 26psi on a gt30 but it's in the UK so will be a lot more if dynoed in the US. Will be running NOS soon then at Xmas putting a 2.2 crank in the motor and may put a gt35 so I need to find a solution for the box.
