Default calling greddy kit owners

Hey guys, so I finally got my car back on monday. Everything is running smoothly, put down 275 whp and 185 lb tq. Down low the car feels great, but it seems slower than it should feel up top. Maybe this is a pointless thread/topic but just wondering if any of you other owners feel like this too.

hmm maybe b/c the power increase down low is more pronounced compared to the increase up top that it just feels that way in contrast to how the stock powerband is anorexic down low and meaty up top...basically it may be your mind playing trix on you

When I had the stock cat on the car it definitely felt choked up top (because it was). I've got a Berk high-flow cat now, wow what a difference. Berk uses a Magnaflow cat with a metal core, supposed to flow at 87% of a straight pipe. The WG has no problem keeping up with the extra flow.
One of these days I'll get to a dyno.

Honda uses a metal honey-comb core as well. I am curious as to how much better the magnaflow actually flows though.

To the OP, what exhaust are you running? That could also be a limiting factor if you are not using a 3".

I understand how you feel exactly, but I honestly think this sensation is caused by the gradual lessening of torque as the car runs out of breath with the smaller turbo. Its an illusion, as the horsepower is really increasing all the way to 9000. Well at least it did on my first dyno on my first day of tuning.

My second dyno really does show my power leveling off a bit too soon. I'm out of spare "turbo" money at the moment so I won't get this fully addressed until next spring. What kind of dyno did you use to get your numbers? You should post your dyno on this thread. Maybe you really are "losing" power up top and its not just a trick of the mind, like this dyno shows

And here is the last one from a totally different type of dyno in much warmer conditions with significantly less air blowing over the car.

I'm running about 8.8 lbs of boost in the last 2 dynos, which is actually more than the first dyno. Its hard to compare the dyno numbers because I had to put on brand new Dunlop Winter Sports a few days after the 276 and I lost traction on the dyno. I need at least one more trip to the shop with my normal tires back on before I'll be really happy. Maybe... It's always something or other going on since I decided to go the turbo route.

The evo 2 may be limiting the breathing up top some as well. It is an excellent exhaust for NA and decent for the turbo, but with a car that runs to 9000 it will be somewhat restrictive, even for the little turbo.

The OEM cat flows at 43%, 1/2 of the Berk. The stock cat's passageways are very small.
