As next year's project I might do some more exprimenting with a couple woodruff keys. I was just thinking about it and wondering one dumb thing, lets say I take off the cams and for some reason I don't mark them or happen to mix them up, is there some identifying mark that differentiates the exhaust cam from the intake cam?

I have had them off once before and don't remember what I did to keep them apart and don't remember what they look like, but is it even possible to mix them up and install them on the wrong side or is that mechaically impossible? I don't know why this concerns me, but it sounds just like something I would do to undertake a project and put them on bass akwards.

 

I did a quick search and found this thread. I took apart my old motor and seem to remember them being marked as shown

"IN" is stamped in the middle of the intake cam, "EX" on the exhaust cam
