Default Can you stomach another clutch thread?

I have read a dozen clutch threads but still have a bunch of questions if you guys can stomach it.

First let me state I am a roots blower (SOT) SC kit (fun kit by the way) and I don't ever see the car, in my hands anyway, going beyond 350 whp and ~225 ftlbs of torque.

I don't want to buy more clutch than I need and have read about how great the HTG kit is, and about how some people believe to much clamping force in the ACT HD pressure plate gave them crank walk/engine damage. I read that they redesigned it with less clamping force (don't know if this is true, sent them and email) and see they do not make the light duty street pressure plate for the S2000. ACT seems to have a solid reputation for low noise and stock feel but I don't wnat to be able to handle 350 ftlbs if I don't need to and stress the drivetrain.

Spec Stage 1 has been recommended as a lighter duty but see LOTS of noise related posts related to decel clutch buzz, mostly in stage 2 kits. Someone even postulated the theory that noise/chatter/buzz will be less prevelent in disks with 4 springs rather than six. Don't know if that is true, Spec's come with 6.

I see the Competition Clutch package (1620) is also recommended but it is a 6 spring, don't know about pedal feel and noise and it has a six puck disk.

Lots of Ebay Exedy's cheap but virtuall no reviews on this board.

So can I use just about any pressure plate with the stock disc or where they come as a kit do I need to use the disc to like in the competition clutch package? I have never done a clutch and had my hands on the parts so I can see how the pieces actually work and make contact with each other.

Anyone use the competiton clutch PP with stock disc? Or the SPec stage 1 PP with stock disc? Please comment on noise and feel.

Will using the stock disc get better feel and less noise?

And schooling or recommendations welcome, but looking to keep the car as civilized as possible and still hold the power level I plan to stay at.

I'm going with the Competition Clutch 6 puck ceramic (1620) that you mentioned. Its a soft pedal, but it does buzz on decel.

I just dont want to risk ACT, and will have to deal with the buzzing and harsher engagement of the CC clutch.
JMO.

FYI I plan to be around 450 HP Inline Pro turbo.

And one final question:

What is the stock clutch supposedly rated for as far as power and torque are concerned?

ACT crank walk was supposedly fixed with the new batch.

I thought you were going with the 2100 Series (Stage 2)?

I'll be in the same boat as yours prob in a year or so. I'll be running the stock clutch for the first year (under 3,000 miles of driving if that) and she how she holds. Only have 40k on it and it's in pristine condition so know need to chuck that which is not broken.

If it turns out that I start to slip like crazy then I'll most likely be looking at either spec's or the new batch of ACT's (also heard about crank walk but at the same time also heard about it being fixed in the newer ver). Again there are so many choices but the main thing I want is stock feel and engagement. Not looking for any crazy power numbers at most I'll be in your boat with around 350-360bhp.

i have been using a CC stge 4 six puck for the past 45k miles. That with a 9lb flywheel made it hard to learn when i first got it. It will get easier but is probably way too much clutch for your needs. Two of my friends have had crank walk with an ACT in their car, but its still much more progressive than my clutch.
