I had the "shakes" too but it wasn't as bad when the car was boosted...

Do you have a flex pipe on your downpipe? My car was bad at 4 thousan RPM with my makeshift downpipe, but now that I have the flex and new downpipe that vibration Is gone. I felt that a lot in the shifter...

does it feel like you're driving over cobblestone? I agree that its a good chance that it's the axle buckets. You can swap them for free or pay ~$100 for 2 piece driveshaft spacers (i bought mine off ebay as one piece and cut them in half) and installed them in about 30 min. smooth as silk. At least until the buckets get pitted again at which then, I'd swap them.
What are the axle buckets?
Could it also be vibrating from the propeller shaft?

They are buckets/cups at the end of both axles. It holds grease for the roller bearings inside which eventually pit under load and cause the "shakes" that you may be experiencing.

here's a thread from last year about spacers and the vibration issues.

Here's the DIY thread for swapping the cups if you don't buy spacers.

I used the T1R drive shaft spacers and really liked them since they are cut in half and extremely easy to install.

Yes. From my understanding, the cause from being lowered is a myth. The cups/buckets will eventually start pitting lowered or not.

I think it's the GT35 and the extra 300+lbs of force induced torque that had a part in it.
