I almost did a meth kit but decided e85 was a better option as I have a station 2 miles from me. Sucks though as its the only station for 30miles, and with a 130 mile range Im limited, haha. Glad you caught it!

run an egt gauge in all four exhaust runners to insure equal atomization in all four cylinders so that your motor doesn't grenade-- check.

ok well, I wasn't the fella who welded the bung on the Charge Pipe. I don't think I took many shortcuts during this build.
That wasn't directed @ you, just generally speaking. Trust me, I've learned my lesson in the past as well.

Great idea. Something I'm going to look into this time around.

Sucks how much time/effort and $$ goes into doing something right, lol.

and we can see all the meth haters emerge!

its good stuff, and as long as you realize things can go wrong, its not awful to use.

he posts his findings and results so others can benefit from them, not so people on this site can berate him for running it.

news flash, meth costs way less then running 100+ octane gas. and you only need the meth above X psi, ,so normal driving is still done on the pump piss. set up your fail safes, roll the dice, and enjoy.

i think its bad ass the dude has a 580whp car that he dailies. i have somewhere around 4k miles on my meth setup and one dragon trip on it. hasnt let me down yet

which meth kit do you have
I know AEM has a failsafe called boost safe still it only takes a sec to detonate. '
good catch !

Yea, but one of the biggest MISSES w/the AEM kit is the lack of a flow sensor.

Like Joey's post, if I were out running around, and my line broke, everything would still work perfectly, b/c the kit would see the tank is fuel, no ground shorts/voltage issues and spray perfectly fine, however the methanol would never be going into the motor, and BOOM, the rest would be history.

I know, It would have been too many gauges and too much money. I mean I came to a point where I was like I really can't spend anymore money. I was going to put the EGT gauge on the hottest runner but didnt want to void my warranty with the manifold. I know where the EGTS are supposed to be, so anytime they vary wildly I will know something is up.

WOT 19lbs near redline I saw 1200 peak with averages at 1100F or so. ( I know the true EGTS are hotter (sensor is in DP) but if this is my avg If I see 1600F post turbo I know something is wrong

Adam,

Sorry If I got a little defensive, I didnt mean to and it wasnt directed at you

Important (and this is how the FAILsafe may not save you unless you program it from the gauge to the EMS

The overflow condition does not set off a "FAILSAFE", though I am sure I could wire one up. from the gauge to the EMS. The light on the FLOW guage blinks, I would have to wire it up separately because the AEM Failsafe or the "BOOST SAFE" is if the controller or pump malfunctions itself, and in this case everything was working fine, it was the FLOW gauge that saved my ass. The Water/Meth "kit" or controller was working fine so it would not have send an error
