Default Change of plans

So I decided against trying to make my Ramhorn fit in my S. I welded some of the runners without first checking fitment in the car...big mistake on my part. So instead of cutting those apart and trying to make it work, I went back to the drawing board.

Here is what I came up with today. First design didn't leave enough room for a large downpipe, so i moved the first runner and now there is about 4-5" where it can squeeze in.

All tacked up:

Nice collector...should make good power

Bottom side....showing comparison of tight radius and laqrge radius 90deg elbows:

Another angle:

And here you can see I tried to tuck the first runner more to give clearance for the downpipe

Nice view

And this way I don't have to relocate my oil filter, which I hear a ton of people have leaking problems associated with that.

Hopefull I get a chance to weld it up soon and get the wastegate figured out. I have some ideas for that, I need to see which one fits best and will flow best.

Are the runners equal length? That is huge in terms of helping the turbo spool.

no they're not.

It's pretty hard to do a topmount in the S and have true equal length runners.

PFAB has done it.

Hopefully it all turns out good for you!

I will be following your progress!

Not really. They are a bit closer to equal than mine, but like I said, I don't see how you would do a TRUE equal length top mount application with the frame sitting right there.

How's the transition from the collector to the turbine inlet? Looks pretty steep? Things like that will have a much bigger affect on things that 'true equal length'.

What do you mean by steep? The angle which the turbine flange is rotated on the collector?
