I wonder what it is, i haven't switched the hoses yet, but like I said I called my tuner and they said not to worry about that all would happen is failing emissions. I just got it tuned yesterday and don't want anything to screw up.
Oh, the air pump (smog pump)?
I was just reading about it today in the repair manual. It has 12v going to it from the ECU through a big relay next to the airpump. Then the thick wire that comes out of the relay goes to a special 'Air Pump Current Sensing Whatever'. Basically it determines if the pump is actually going. Then the thick wire goes to the airpump motor.
From that sensor unit, located under the driver side fender, a wire goes to the ECU telling it that the airpump is actually working. It sends between 2 to 5 volts whenever the pump is supposed to spin.
I'm thinking, if there's a way to reduce the 12v from the small relay wire to 5v and hook that up to small wire on the sensor unit... Then surely the ECU would think that the pump is spinning, and you're golden - no CEL!
Hmm, would Radio Shack have a voltage drop device? 12v -> 5v.
