Default Chefs CNC speed shop review

Hey guys just would like to let you know about my experience with cnc speed shop..
First off from the beginning .. I blew my third Honda diff ( all purchased used except for first one which was original ) right after Watkins glen in April ... So knowing my next track day was July 5th I had to make a decision which way to go .. After my deliberation I decide to go with the stage 1 cnc ford 8.8 diff kit .. With 2.9 axles good for 500 hp... I saw it's like a 2 month lead time on orders so I knew I was going to be cutting it close .. I got in touch with Cameron and Jason at cnc and placed my order... Came to a couple weeks before my trip and turned out that they have received the wrong axels from drive shaft shop ..so after being very apologetic the only way to get me on the road was for me to take the 5.9 axels and 33 spline hubs .. So he did give them to me at his cost .. Which i am fine with just knowing that I'll never break these axels ..

Finally received the kit and the thing is beautiful ..
Installation was not that bad .. Remove the old diff and axels .. Removed the knuckles and had billman press out the bearings and hubs and install the new hubs and longer studs .. While doing so removed the splash shield behind rotors for better cooling ..to install I did it with a Friend or 2 cause I was doing it with the car on stands and me on my back on the floor .. So I tied the diff to the jack so it would sort of stay still ... The mounts toward front of car get bolted to the cradle before install and the rear slips in to the rear mounts .. Ended up getting it in .. Had to move exhaust over a little bit Because ended up that the invidia dual did not fit with this kit .. Ended up buying a single hks high power .. Awesome sounding exhaust .. I torqued everything down to spec and got it ready for the 500 mile break in .. Did all 500 miles before the track day and found almost nothing on the magnets when I changed the fluid .( kit comes with 4 bottles of Lucas ) .. Went to the track and diff felt like a stock Honda diff could not tell the difference .. This will hopefully be the last diff I ever buy! Definitely well built and very impressive kit!
Cameron and Jason were a big help getting me on the road .. Thanks for taking my calls anytime of night when I thought I ran into issues .. Just over the top customer service .. They will be posting up some pics of the kit and it installed ..

Again definatly a great way to go if your in need of a new differential and never wanna replace it again .. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience .

That's fantastic! Great to hear about this kit and the customer service! I have always wondered if these non OEM Rear ends did anything "funny" to the handling...sounds like this one doesn't change that at all huh? Thanks for the review!

I'd love to have this rear end but there's just no cost effective way to get it to Australia

Congrats!

I'm actually working with a customer in Austrailia that will be purchasing soon. It's a long shot, but if you two happen to be in close proximity, we'd be happy to try to work out something where we ship the kits together so the cost could be split.

We've looked at traditional shipping methods ie UPS, FedEx, etc and we've also looked into using freight. Although freight takes quite some time, if you can wait for your kit, it cuts down on cost quite a bit.

If you're serious about the kit, send me a PM with your location and I'll see if there's anything we could possibly work out to bring the cost down.

Thanks awesome news man especially with the things you've had going on with your supercharger. Shops that work for and with their customers is a rarity. I just ordered CNC's stroker kit and I can't wait to get it. I tend to ask a lot of questions before pulling the trigger on things and Jason has been very patient and answered every question I've had. Thanks for posting reviews with your experiences also chef. Great way to help the community.

Is that exhaust interference with the housing or just the angle of the pics?
