Default cleaning turbo manifold

hey, i have a nice schmuckbuilt twin scroll manifold.. its in good condition but the flanges (both on the block and turbo) are getting rusty...

and the tubes dont have the brand new look anymore... just looking for a good way to clean it up. i know you can ceramic coat it but im not interested in that yet.. has anyone had luck with that flame proof paint staying on turbo manifolds???

just need some advice here..

Personally I've only used the VHT caliper paint on various components but had great results with that

Judging by what you're saying this is purely a cost-related thing, right? Ceramic coat would be the most ideal for uniform finish, as well as heat dispersion and corrosion-proofing. There's plenty of different colors available. Both options you're talking about would necessitate taking the manifold off, but ceramic is a couple hundred bucks vs a $20 can of grill paint which may or may not last. That being said you need to weigh how much your time is worth to you....You could also polish the pipes but that's a ton of work.

well, the manifold is really pretty, and i dont want to spray it with VHT cause it really want to keep that broze color that it has... however the flanges both on the turbo and on the block are getting rusty. like.. can i use scotch brite, brillo pads etc??
