Clutch Comparison
Just wondering if anyone has experience with these clutches and which would be best for 400+whp FI.
-ACT
-Clutch Master
-Exedy
-Centerforce
-Any others I've missed?
Looking for good drivability(like stock or close to it), at most moderate clutch pedal feel, no noise or chatter, and best holding force and reliability. Basically the best setup for the money.
I was looking into the ACT HD with street(stock) or modified street disk.

I just got the hard top guy clutch kit installed on my car a few days ago and so far i am very happy with it. The kit includes the ACT heavy duty pressure plate, oem disc and throw out bearing, plus the comptech lightened flywheel. Feel is very close to stock, and now i can actually shift from 1st to 2nd with some authority. I think there are people on here with the same setup that have 400+ whp.
The SPEC stage 2 is pretty good. A touch of chatter with a Fidanza flywheel and lightened PP option (only when doing something like crawling up a steep driveway while keeping the revs up to prevent stalling- none in normal driving). It can hold pretty extreme clutch drops too.

im useing hardtopguy kit also(act HD pp/stock disc/comptech flywheel) ive had it for about 4 months and its great. it made a world of difference, no slippage at all. but that puts more stress on diff/tranny. slightly heavier pedal, but i highly recommend it.
Ive been using the Exedy Hyper Single clutch for the past 13,000 miles(stock clutch didnt last long). Daily traffic driving sucks but I like the clutch everywhere else. You have to think of it more like a "button" than a clutch. At the track, I get comments all the time, such as "wow, sounds like sequential shifting". Its because theres no delay in pushing the clutch
Anyway, I wouldnt recommend the Exedy if you care about busy traffic driving. Its ok, but its more "on-off", than "modulation".
So youve got about 1500 miles on er Eh Chadd?
Torque does wonders for clutches
