How can a clutch kill engine life?

You need to stop listening to the people/person who told you that.
Crank Walk. This is mostly with the ACT HD Clutch Disc.

I Love my ACT street disk, ACT PP, and Comptech Flywheel.

ok so a ACT street setup is goo denough to hold 450whp? I mean it's not even 300wtq..... so it should. it's rated for 380tq.

I gotta order today. so more receomendations woudl be great!

A big question is how quiet are these clutches? As quiet as stock or quieter? Many of the aftermarket clutches are significantly louder than stock. They are loud enough that I would not consider them 'streetable' based solely on noise.

Any heavy duty pressure plate will put excessive wear on the thrust bearing, which could lead excessive crankshaft play (crank walk). However, I have yet to see firsthand any crank walk cases with this car due to a heavy spring rate pressure plate. Use the clutch sparingly with a heavy duty clutch, and you are unlikely to see any problems arise. That said, I love my Exedy hyper single.

Competition Stage 4 isn't loud at all imo. There is some buzz on decel, but nothing serious...for me anyway.

Yeah, I have the competition ltw fw. I'm not sure if it was the 11.5lbs one or their lighter version. I'll have to ask IP later.

The car is actually nicer to drive then my prior ACT HD PP/Street Disc setup, due to the lightened pedal feel (not TOO light, albeit significantly lighter than the ACT), and solid engagement. Once you get used to it, it's awesome.

I've got a CC stage 4 sprung, 6 puck on mine. The new clutch has about 400-500 miles and there is a lot of chatter in first gear and engages hard. I also have FI with about 350hp. The shop that installed it tells me the chatter will go away after 1500 miles after the fact. I don't see this happening. It is very smooth in higher gears and high rev. Also feels very solid.

I also have the 11.5 light flywheel. I get a buzzing noise when decelerating and a excessive vibration during heavy acceleration that I did notice before. I've been using the car for daily driving, but may drive the Infiniti sedan more often since it is not as friendly to drive with the new clutch.

I'll give an update after the 1500 mark and taking it back to the shop to make sure all the bolts are tightened. My original choice was the kevlar stage 2, but they shop convinced me the stage 4 was just as smooth - I should have went with my original decision at this point.
