I don't need 10k to build a GOOD turbo kit. i just want a good kit and i can save for all of the other parts!! 5k will get me a kit EASY. just looking thru S2ki there isn't a single WHOLE kit selling for even 7K so 10k is crazyness. there is a shop here that does really good exhaust work ie. welding for cheap.

gamble:
damn i guess all i need is an intercooler now and ill be boosted to 550 damn thanks for the advice
This is an oversight that shows how early you are in modifying this car. Anyone on the boards here can stand behind the cost of a boosted car. Many things seem small or unnecessary, or you dont know to add them to the estimate, but add up VERY quickly. This is not to say you cant go turbo, but definitely plan on spending a little over that budget. Used kits are available for less than 5K, but by the time you get the car set up and ready to tune, I am sure you will be short at that price point.

Take as much advice and learn as much as you can before starting so you achieve what you want in your build. Dsddcd is a very reliable and intelligent person when it comes to S2000. He has been through several setups and knows his stuff. I have been around the block to say and have some time/money wrapped up in the S2000 as well.

Do some searching in the Forced Induction forum on the SC vs. Turbo debate. Both can be reliable when done right. Each prefers his own. I like my SC setup but not to say Turbo isnt the way to go as well.

Honestly, if you're making that much power, I would go ahead and get a diff from puddydad. Look him up on the boards. You can get a 3.80 final drive cryo treated. That will help your gas mileage AND give you a higher top speed.

Nah. Those are nice but I dont drag my car. The stock diff will be ok for a while longer.

I like the stock gear ratio. If I wanted a beefier rear end Id go big and go for the Ford 8.8 rear. I already have one in the garage.
