The Ultimate numbers could easily be generated. Just strap it to a dyno with no airflow, and run it for a while.

Of course you would turn on the fan when you did the air to air.

That being said, the numbers I took are real hard data from the track. It should also be noted the temps dropped quickly on the cool down lap to about 80F.

For those of you running around on the street, I would think it would be fine.

on my 3inch pulleyed comptech setup, i was finding my IAT's would increase 30-40 degrees after a 3 gear pull, and would take at least 1-2 minutes to go back down to pre-WOT levels

in regards to putting ice in the system, that will heat up within a minute or two on the track. Lots of guys would do that on the mini's with a top mount intercooler, using dry ice, and over a 40-50 second AutoX, the entire pack of dry ice had evaporated. When i did the same thing with ice, (by putting it on the intercooler, the thing evaporated within 20-30 seconds.

I've got two possible SCed cars to test this on. The conversion from air-water to air-air might make more of a difference on a road race car and high boost street setups.

Data will tell all....stay tuned.

Wow. I had no idea IAT's could rise so quickly and to such high temperatures. That concerns me. I am going to have to think about a solution for this. The meth sprayer would be a relatively easy option but I question how well it would work if we are fighting IAT's like this.

when my a/c comptech was @ stock boost with ambient temp. 69.8F
from 0 to 3500rpm 69,8F
up to 4500rpm 71,6F
6500rpm 73,4F
and 75,2F up to the redline
i had an increase of only 6 degrees F while the link above with the
comptech a/c vs Ultimate Racing Front Mount Intercooler is talking about 50 degrees increase of temp


i will post the temperatures when i was @15psi and the ambient temp whas
higher also .

Those were the numbers we got. I'm sure MANY of you guys will be surprised if you ever decide to install temperature sensors before and after the aftercooler. Hell, we were surprised too. We knew the aftercooler was inefficient...just didn't know it'd be THAT bad. We're actually quite surprised that no one had performed this test before.

We have no reason to publish false results. I've even gone so far as to offer a money back guarantee if the results we show are proven to be fabricated

I like the look of that FMIC kit, how many psi do you loose with extra tubing?

Between each run at the track, I set a bag of ice on top of my aftercooler. I have never tested the temp, but general physics says it's probably cooler.
