Take the MAP off and make sure there is no foreign object blocking the path.

Well... one step forward and two steps back as they say It turns out that it was the VAFC. Apparently I was trying to pull too much fuel with it, at a certain point the ECU just freaks out and start dumping gas. The car ran fine last night, then this morning threw a CEL, or 2 actually

I got the CEL's pulled and came up with:

P0172 System too rich - Which I guess is expected if I can't pull enough fuel w/ the VAFC. No problem, I can work on that one.

P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction - No idea what this is, the guy that pulled the code said he'd never seen it before. Any ideas?

I reset the ECU and then limped the last couple miles to work without throwing another code. Anybody wanna buy a car?

after you removed the vafc maybe the car needs to take time to relearn since it freaked out...just like when it compensates over time from partial throttle vafc tuning...now it has to re-compensate...just a theory..good luck

your running larger than stock injectors?

if you don't want to sell your car, get an EMS and have it tuned!

If your not running larger injectors, it might just be your ecu freaking out. Record any and all CEL's (which it looks like you did), then reset the ecu. Drive VERY conservatively for the next 100 miles or so and see if it comes back. If it doesn't, get progressively more agressive with it. I'd like to guess and say your ecu is seriously out of wack from the vafc.

Check your plugs also, and make sure you didn't accidently disconnect anything when you removed the vafc, and check your hoses.

Btw, if your running with bigger injectors... Why? You don't need them unless your running over 7psi. If anything you should be running a little lean.

Oh, and did anyone muck around with your fpr? It might need a little adjusting.

I'm running the stock injectors. I've messed with the FPR, but it seems to be adjusted where it needs to be. I've been keeping a very close eye on my UEGO. I think I'm gonna go ahead and change the plugs tonight to be safe. I after resetting the ECU the car has been fine, so far. I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow with another problem though.

Do you still have the Comptech ESM? That was my problem and a loose wire on it nearly drove me insane.
