Default Comptech kit cold air setups

Hey does anyone have any good cold air setup's for the comptech kit or SOS kit which is very similar? pics would be great, i'm trying to get some ideas to prevent some heat soak on humid days.
Thanks

99SH has one, or at least had one when I was looking into it. His used the flexible brake duct tubing. Someone else has or had one with metal tubing as well.

I have my filter in the standard SOS location, but recently followed Rob's brake duct guide (http://robrobinette.com/S2000BrakeDucts.htm) to mount a vent on the passenger side and route the duct to my filter location. The hope was that when the car was up at speed, the duct would force ambient air into the engine bay, specifically directed at the filter to decrease the effects of heat soak. I plan on testing the duct's functionality by observing IAT's and measuring the temperature in various locations in the engine bay with the duct closed off, then with it opened up.

Yes, I would assume that if you had the Comptech air box and ported the vent tube to the box that it would increase the effectiveness of reducing filter heat soak.

This isn't comptech related but I was doing some testing with my vortech setup this weekend. I currently have just a filter on the end of the elbow that comes off the blower with no vortech filter box and tested to see what the difference was. My intake temp sensor is in the elbow pre blower so I can see how much the box makes a difference.

On a 75F day cruising on the highway 60mph I would see intake temps around 110-120F with the current setup. I swapped out the filter to the vortech box and filter and my intake temps dropped to 80F and boost pressure increased 0.9psi probably due to the denser air. Needless to say I was very surprised.

Interesting... Thanks for the reply, I bought the kit used and it never came with the filter box. I will go to my friends steel shop and make an intake box for it to keep out the hot engine temps from getting in the charger.
Thanks

Check out the sos cold air intake thread. The position of the supercharger on the sos kit is the same as the Comptech, so the intake will be similar.
