Default Comptech sc ac bov or dv?

I have an ctsc ac on my 03. Is it better to stay with the diverter valve or switch to a bov? If I wanted to switch how would I go about this?

No performance reason to switch if dv is working right. But soubf of bov is fun

I would imagine that you would get sick of BOV at idle and low throttle conditions with a S/C. I tried venting my DV 100% to atmosphere, but noticed a consistent ~4% drop in kPa versus 100% recirc under similar conditions. Plus, the constant venting sound got old (a filter helped sound dampening though). If you want the sound, you should check out the Forge Motorsport Splitter DV. It's dual port, adjustable, and its atmosphere discharge port is staggered so that the venting sound starts occurring closer to WOT shifts. It makes a nice shhhh sound (sounds like a short snake hiss).

So will the stock Comptech DV valve that comes with the kit hold more than 12 psi boost? If not, does Forge make a direct replacement DV that would work? I'm currently running a godzilla BOV and enjoy the sound but being in California I think I may want to switch as to keep a more low profile.

Yes as long as it’s in good condition I have found it will hold 15psi, as much as the blower can safely spin. I have my recirc valve converted to a BOV. I think it offers some marginal performance, in that there is no more hot recalculated air being pumped back into the intake.

Pull it out of the intake elbow, plug that hole. Let it vent to atmosphere. Pretty simple.

The valve is just press fitted, so you can just pull it out.

Thanks for the info! It is greatly appreciated! I shall decide what I'm going to do. I know one thing is I have to drive my car more!
