I also have some issues with coolant temps. My setup:
Custom turbo kit with FMIC
Koyo radiator
Mugen thermostat/fan switch
Coolant temps never go below 176 which means that the fans are on all the time. Moreover, while cruising above 4500rpm (no boost), I get to 185-190 easily and after some good beating, I might even see 205-210. I consider this too high for all the cooling mods. Is this normal? Is it OK to operate the fans all the time. Will it make any difference if I activate them through EMS at a higher temp so they do not operate all the time?
ps: I even see 5 bars in modifry after high speed crusing (110mph). I thought cruising at such high speeds would not induce any cooling issues due to the high speed of the incoming air. Am I wrong?

If you get a TEMP gauge that reads directly off the coolant lines you'll see that the aem ems reads a little off.
The oem fans do not turn on until 206.
Generally mechanics knowledge is temps even as high as 220 are regular driving temps of coolant on a hot day.

So at what temp should I/we be getting concerned? I havent even touched the A/C button for fear of overheating. I turned it on for about 5 mins and the temps broke 210 so I shut it off
EDIT: My 210 temp was on an AEM serial gauge

If you want the true temps to register on your AEM serial gauge or PC, go to this thread and change them yourself! You will also find the real IAT #'s!

just be careful, because the cold and warm start enrichments might be scewed if you change the numbers too much!

The engine bone stock can see 220 on a hot day.
As long as you don't see above 220 it will be fine. You should see it average around 200-210 on a regular day.
