strange... my mishimoto fans and shroud work great and it's constantly 90+ here. I can open my hood and stand at my door and feel the hot air the fans are pushing out. It takes no time at all for my temps to go from 200 to 170 with these fans.

When I installed them I let the car idle and watched the temps climb, then drastically fall when the fans came on. I let this go on for about 30 mins just to make sure it was nice and warm. Everytime it would get rid of a lot of heat with no extra force of driving around.

Maybe someone has/had their wires hooked up wrong...

My stock fans did nothing basically in this heat and they were fat.

No the polarity was correct on the fans, it is pretty hard to get that wrong, Black to Black and Blue to Blue

Mase first started noticing the heat issue and the following (2) days the car was running 215-235 on the highway at 80F. I pulled the fans off and Poof the car was running 195 again in 100F+ days.

Just an FYI..
Scott put the mishimoto fans/shroud on his car with his Mase kit (for clearance) and had high water temps.. He switched back to the OEM shroud and fans and all is well now with his water temps. The mishimoto's were not as good as the OEM fans at cooling...
Is he running the OEM radiator or the KOYO or Mishimoto radiator? If he is running the OEM radiator, that might be why the shroud wasnt performing well. I have it on my Koyo radiator and it seems to work great.

I just can't see how the stock fans are better. They can't be. I'll even swap them out and test them.

Also, I run mine on a mishimoto radiator. So that could be it. The stock one is only about a half inch thick, the aluminum ones are about 2 1/2 or a little more if I remember correctly.

most aftermarket "high performance fans" get outflowed by the stock fans with ease.

now, step up to an authentic Spal fan and its another story. try and get a fan that is at least 11 amps(17 is preferred for best cooling). most fans on ebay, etc draw like 6 amps and are super weak. the mishimoto shroud causes a lot of hotspots and heat trapping. seen it on some nissan threads as well. for their fans.

spec- i like all the mods bro. you're putting your money where it counts.
My SPAL fan uses a 60 Amp fuse and a 210 Amp relay

Very powerful and dangerous fan.

Thanks for the comment!

Yes I do have the factory radiator, but by that logic it should have cooled better.

The problem is that the shroud basicly blocks off the flow area when the factory fans allow flow through most of the face.

You MIGHT get better performance if you use the fans w/o the shroud.

I have a mishimoto radiator and was thinking about getting the fan shroud so I emailed mishi with an inquery...I was told not to run it with the shroud bc i have an aftermarket intake (k&n) and it would block air from getting to the intake and re-route it to the radiator. Also, you should get a different aftermarket radiator cap as preventative maintenace bc the mishimoto radiator (while very efficient) has been known to come with bad radiator caps that will leak coolant or cause cel...This is only a $20-40 mod.

You can just tell by looking at the Mishi fan shroud that its not gonna work well when the fans are not on. It blocks the airflow at all four corners and at the top and bottom of the middle. Instead of a large rectangular radiator, you have two small circular ones. I have the Mishi rad and it works great but I skipped their fans.

What are the results with the Mocal oil/water exchanger. Have people had really good results with it? Meaning how well does it compare to just a regular oil cooler?
