yea but what about your oil temps after driving hard for 25mins?
Who knows? Probably hot as all hell but I don't track the car so I really don't care too much.

What are some negative affects of abnormally high oil temps?

are you talking about the fake ducts in the bumper? So just by cutting those you noticed a difference? Even without having to route the air to the radiator?
I also cut out the plastic peice that seperates those duct areas from the radiator (you probably had to cut holes in this part to fit intercooler piping). I cut it all out, the undertray is supported by the bumper and other undertray peices so the vertical peices are unnecessary anyway.

Well if you never track the car, your oil temps will never get TOO hot (though they will be up there).

Main issue with high temps is oil breakdown and loss of viscosity leading to all sorts of fun (and expensive) engine problems.

I am about to purchase one of these and wanted to know what the specs you used for the water inlet hose size and an fitting size for the oil connections.

Thanks

Do you have a pic of your car with the air ducts cut out?

My coolant temps have always been 190-200F -- helms manual states that thermo is fully open at 185ish and fan switch turns on at ~200 and shuts off 10 degrees less. Plus now that there is a lot more strain on the system, I expect my temps to remain high.

I did a pretty hard drive today and oil temps capped at about 230, I tried to keep the car at 6k+ rpms the whole time. However, my water temps were creeping up pretty high although I've heard track cars usually see 210+ water temps...I've personally never seen that before so it had me worried. For the record they got up to about 208F before I let off and they dropped back down to 195.

Even with a big ass fan blowing through the bumper, you cant feel any air getting to the radiator with the intercooler / condenser in place -- they are MAJOR restrictions. I plan on doing something interesting with the fans to help cooling.

....stay tuned
Just an FYI..
Scott put the mishimoto fans/shroud on his car with his Mase kit (for clearance) and had high water temps.. He switched back to the OEM shroud and fans and all is well now with his water temps. The mishimoto's were not as good as the OEM fans at cooling...

I couldn't say, after installing all of this and moving my coolant overflow bottle, I realized I had enough room to mount the stock fans so I went back to them. I did actually replace the 12" stock fan with a SPAL extreme performance fan -- damn thing is powerful

most aftermarket "high performance fans" get outflowed by the stock fans with ease.

now, step up to an authentic Spal fan and its another story. try and get a fan that is at least 11 amps(17 is preferred for best cooling). most fans on ebay, etc draw like 6 amps and are super weak. the mishimoto shroud causes a lot of hotspots and heat trapping. seen it on some nissan threads as well. for their fans.

spec- i like all the mods bro. you're putting your money where it counts.
