Thumbs down Cracked Greddy Log Manifold & Removed :)

Fuk Me

As I was doing some random checking this morning, I noticed this.............

The car still holds 10PSI, doesn't sound any different and as the car was running I put my finger right down by the "crack", I felt like I felt more heat coming form that area but it I didnt necessarily feel any exhaust coming out of there

Could this be the outer coating just warping and flaking or is my Piece of shit log manifold cracked?

How else will I know?

looks like the beginning of a crack to me. Greddy's castings suck cause I went through 3 of their manifolds on my 1.6 miata years ago. Its not really worth it to try to weld on a cast manifold either...I would have a shop make you a log to place the turbo in the same spot as the greddy mani does....cause it looks like a crack to me.

man im sorry, you can take it off and have someone try to weld on it, its just that welding cast iron doesnt work well.

Well, if it is in fact cracked, I am taking the kit off, selling it (minus the manifold), selling my AEM Meth kit, selling my flyhweel and clutch, selling my Berk HFC, and getting rid of the car, I really dont want the headache anymore, when the car is running great its a lot of fun, but I dont want to deal with this Bullshit anymore.............

Is there anything else I can do to see if its cracked like find soemthing that detects Carbon monoxide like a peice of litmus paper or something, or do I just wait until it breaks the fuk off?

yea, I dunno I will see if after it cools down Ill wipe it and see if any black stuff comes off..............

I thought LOg manifolds were hard to crack

It almost looks like water or something hit it it has a dark water stain look to it around the crack.

Wow, that's a first that I have heard of. I know they were having a lot of problems with the stainless tubular manifolds that came with the early kits, but not the log manifolds. How long have you had your kit on your car? Good luck bro.

I know you are upset, but mayby it is just a faulty mani, and you can get a replacement for relatively cheap and have years of trouble free fun. Good luck man!
