Default Criticize my motor setup

Hi all,

I'm in the process of rebuilding my motor and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Brian Crower Econo Rods. These are the cheapest rods but state they can handle up to 200hp per cylinder. I'm not gonna have a crazy turbo setup yet but 400-500hp could be in the future. It'll run the greddy turbo setup for now because I'm spending all my money on the engine build. Just wondering if anyone have used these before and would rather prefer the BC 625+ rods.

Please let me know if you would change anything with my setup. I'm looking for a pretty economical build.

AP1 motor
Laskey/Benson sleeves
CP pistons 88mm bore 9:1 CR
BC Econo rods
ARP Headstuds
Cometic 89mm head gasket .030" thickness
ACL race bearing set
New oem oil pump
ID 1000cc injectors

Oh, and why am I rebuilding? Damn RC Eng injectors fuel washed my engine....

Going to be a long winter.

Most places/builders that ive talked to prefer OEM Honda bearings over the ACLs.

All i would change in this set-up is acl bearing for oem ones. i use acl and kings before on integra gsr set up and b20 set up. but you really just get away with things sometimes. At time you don't. I ran acl on my gsr turbo for a whole year with no spun bearing. but after i took to out to go back to stock to sell the car i notice all bearing had different wear mark because of different tolerance being tighter and looser. one more thing i would add to the list would be up graded ap2 retainer or the supertech dual valve with ti retainer. other then that the tune. make sure you get a good tuner. best of luck.

Golden eagle sells OEM Honda head gaskets bored out to 88mm.
I had my motor built by laskey racing and they used ACL bearings

my builder said ACL's were fine so I'll probably stick with them. AS far as the headgasket, is golden eagle the preferred brand over cometic? i do feel a little iffy about running a 89mm headgasket on a 88mm bore.

Anything on the rods?

I would run stock bore with a stock size OEM head gasket. Going that route will give you more room in case you ever mess the block up. The F20c and F22c already have big bores to begin with. With a turbo motor, 1mm over will not yield much to make it worth it.

Our shop car that made 850hp was on BC rods with 625 aged bolts and a stock bore OEM head gasket.

By far preffered over cometic. Stock gaskets are usually .5mm oversized anyway but you can get whatever size you want with golden eagle.
