CT supercharger, what the difference 00-01 kit and 04-05 kit
I found someone that is selling the comptech aftercooled supercharger kit for an 2004 to 2005 2.2L s2000, I own an 2001 s2000, I went to the ct engineering site and there is no info clarified on the differences in the kit from an 00-01 to an 04-05.... What is different about these kits.... is it the ecu that is different? Really need to know cause I would hate to buy this and it not work. Thanks.
Things I can think of right now...
1) Pulley is smaller and will build more boost on your AP1. (Which is fine if you will be tuned, it's not even that much more boost, I think 8-9psi instead of 5.5psi)
2) ESM Box that hides boost from the MAP sensor has slightly different voltage, no big deal you can adjust it with a small screw driver in the back
3) Rising Fuel Pressure Regulator that increases fuel pressure with Boost will ramp up fuel quicker than the AP1 version would. WHICH is good. You should have more safe AFR, some AP1 guys are running AP2 RFPR.
Can't think of anything else. I am running an AP1 kit but Tuned and @ 7psi.

Thanks for the info, helpful. It a steeeeeel deal that I can't pass up.. and I'm going to get it if I can't find anyreason why it won't work on mine... does the kit come with an different ecu for the different models??? here is what the add said "The kit is CARB legal and includes the blower unit, after-cooler, after-cooler radiator, water pump, all mounting brackets, fuel system upgrades (including an in tank Fuel Pump & Comptech FPR), air box, fuel pump, regulator, all hoses & drive belt and the Comptech ESM unit"

Comptech FPR (Rising Fuel Pressure Regulator) is what will "TUNE" your car. For every pound of boost it sees it increases fuel pressure. This way it prevents you from running lean... most of the time it works okay, in my case I couldn't get my FPR working right so I had to buy an ecu and have it tuned. Which yielded much better results and I now have low end grunt and make even more power. Torque is where it jumped a lot from the tune. Keep in mind that cost me additional $2500 or so since I had issues. SO be prepared to spend more and more to get it working right, or just do it right from the beginning.
1) So Comptech FRP is attached to the fuel rail and Increases fuel pressure so injectors dump more fuel to compensate for added air. (Boost)
2) and Comptech ESM wires to the ECU and is responsible for hiding Boost from the stock ECU so it doesn't freak out, throw check engine light and/or go in to limp mode since it's not designed for Boost.
^ Both of which I no longer have since my Greddy Emanage Ultimate took care of these old school methods.
