Default Ctsc not much of a difference?

So I just got it all fixed and tried boosting for the first time. From reading other threads, I'm not sure if it's because my belt might be loose, but it doesn't feel that much faster than stock??

Its my first time being supercharged, but how gradual are you suppose to feel the gains?
looking at some peoples dyno, it looks liek the kit should make more power and tq even below vtec?
I just dont feel the (give or take 300) Hp. or do you only feel it for a split second at redline?

My gauge said about .4 bars which is about 5psi I guessing.

My setup is:
Novi1000
SOS 3.6 pulley
Comptech RRFPR
Comptech ESM
Fmic
.4 bar of boost

I also posted in a diff thread but my tensioner pulley on the ctsc doesn't seem to fit right down the middle but more off to the edge? Could one of my pulleys be on backwards?

It usually takes up to Vtec to feel it, I felt a really nice difference back when I had mine installed. Its really smooth power, below vtec it will feel stock imo

you may be missing one of the three center dowels that go inside the bushings so when the tensioner is tightened it is cocked and the belt rides crocked. what was your afr while you were on it to redline?

im not sure.. i havent had the funds to buy a AFR gauge yet. but I'm not slamming on my car. i still baby it till i can make sure its 100% good. i think i only took it up to 8.5k like2-3 times now

i gave my friend a ride and he thinks it picks up way faster.. maybe its just me

None of your bushing inserts are installed correctly I notice in the pic. Though the belt looks like its in pretty good alignment so not sure whats going on there, if that was an intentional mod for some reason. They are put in wrong between the sc plate and the bracket part off the motor, they are turned around. The recessed part should be inside the sc mount place, not resting on top of the bracket, if that makes sense. You really should have a boost gauge, so you can know if your slipping or not, now and in the future, as the belt stretches and needs an adjustment. Hope you have a wideband so you can adjust the fpr as needed. Your afr will fluctuate quite a bit from summer to winter months. Dont want to run too rich or too lean.

You might be right about not feeling that much faster, if your belt is slipping and not producing much psi, and or your fpr isn't adjusted correctly and your not supplying enough fuel and running dangerously lean. Don't drive this car in vtec anymore until you get some gauges to sort these two critical things out, or you may be very sorry. Hope you didn't cause any engine damage already.

hey s2000junky,

i do have a boost gauge. i mentioned up there im making a l finger nail over .4 bars. thats about 5-6psi.

ill remount the bushings. so basically flip them around right?

do you think the alignment of the belt looks ok? i dont know if this will make a difference, but by looking at other ppls installed, the pulley info seems to be on the outside. where as mine is the inside. this is what got me wondering if i had it backwards

Ok good so your making proper boost, now you can cause damage if your not supplying enough fuel, make sure and get set up with a wideband so you can tune your car safely and keep it there.

I took another look at the pic and noticed the other side of the plate has the bushing backwards as well and that's why the belt is still in proper looking alignment. So take both bushings and flip them around so they are riding inside the front sc mount plate, not on top. When they are inserted correctly, you should only see what looks like two washers on each side and the rubber, not a big steel stack like they are now. Your mount bolts are not biting into enough threads as is now.

After you get the mounts flipped around right, then check the tension pulley/belt alignment. You currently have about 1/8" of belt not riding on the tension pulley, this is not the end of the world but will eventually cause the belt to wear a bit prematurely as you can already see form the scuff mark on the belt. Sometimes as the mount plate and or bushings wear though it changes the alignment a bit, some of this can be addressed, but for now just hook it up right and then see that the belt is completely on the tension pulley, not hanging off anywhere.

right so the bottom picture the bushing is pooched out there are several inner dowels that go on the long bolt which is used a pivot location for the idler pulley plus you spacer are wrong
