Im getting my CTSC w/ AC and T1R 70r-em exhaust w/ 70mm test pipe installed next week.

I'm going to be running stock boost so would it be mandatory to run some type of engine management. I know its not ideal but i have a vafc 2, would it work????

It may well run a bit lean with the exhaust and decat.
Not sure VAFC2 will sort that out.
IIRC the OEM ECU eventually overides it.
I ended up putting the cat back and tweaking the FPR on a dyno.
I will end up putting an AEM EMS 1052 in over the summer.

IMO, a tuner can do more with getting the most out of your SC with a AEM EMS.

 

the VAFC should be adequate if you're running stock boost or anywhere up to 7psi. i have header/tp/exhaust on my CTSC/AC @ 7psi and it's been running great for almost 6 months now..tuned with just a Neo (same as VAFC, just a newer version) and stock injectors. of course EMS would be 10x better, but for what you have, VAFC will do just fine from my experience.

 

Thats what ive got and i've not had any problems so far!! Dont think i would bother with the VAFC unless if you havent got a good tuner.
