Custom air to water kit for Corey
Just posting my most recent build now that im finished with it. i Built this kit for my customer and fellow s2ki member Corey. this kit is for a billet wheel 6262 with a custom modified spearco air to water intercooler. heres some pictures of the build. and before anyone asks, yes he requested the turbo be in that placement requiring modification of the cross member to allow for a underside downpipe. i didnt take as many photos as i thought i did which i regret, but this gives you a general idea of the kit. came out awesome

he requested that the blowoff valve flange be converted to a tial from a greddy. the spearco intercooler was supposed to be for a supercharger but he got a deal so i told him i would make it work. my goal was to eliminate all intercooler piping.

first pass ont he collector.

i sent it to him in new york and we cant wait to see it on his car when he completes the rest of the kit with what he needs. if there are any pictures i missed then feel free to look at my page on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Purce...63903374?ref=ts

Looks really cool, but that short of a collector and the wastegate basically only working off one exhaust runner worries me. It may not hurt anything, but I thought the wastegate was supposed to be placed at the point where all the runners converge into one so it can have adequate bleedoff from all exhaust runners.

Guess you never know till you try it.

A few pictures I have..

As far as the kit goes I just picked up a tial WG and a tial BOV just need to get the turbo itself now.. No rush on this build as I dont plan to take the car apart till Octoberish (when it is off the road) so I have time to tear everything down get everything cermaic/powdercoated and get a wire tuck done.. Although I also can't wait to see dyno numbers!! plan to run 93 and an AEM meth kit!!
But I would again like to thank Purcell Forced Induction and I look forward to what this kit produces..

wow once again my email notifications arent working one bit to let me know i had replies haha ill try to answer everyones questions . the cut to the cross member will be done up a lot nicer on coreys car as he will be having it proffessionally modified by a body guy and re structuring it to keep the integrity of the chassis high. and the wastegate shouldnt cause any problems with the couplers as those can handle extreme heat. the collector is very short yes but the wastegate not only is limited to that position because of the cluster of metal tubing on the manifold, but it seemed to hold boost very evenly on my past kits with a similar manifold design. at the apex of the collector it turns in to essentially a pressure chamber anyways and as long as the wastegate is on it somewhere, then it will scavenge from all cylinders, but as long as it releases the pressure even if it is not even among all the cylinders, it will still control boost. on my next kit i will be designing a chromoly bar to replace that cross member completely and allow for a much larger turbo to be placed in there. will post pictures when that build will start. thank you guys for allt he compliments tho and thanks corey for being a great and patient customer!
