Default Custom SchmuckBuilt top mount manifold and turbo sizing advice

So I recently purchased what I believe is a custom manifold made by Jason Schmuck. I came across a deal I couldn't pass up and had to buy the manifold, I've always had a dirty dream of a top mounted v-mount setup and that's what I plan to do. I'm hoping a SOS v-mount setup could be adapted to work with this manifold and for now that's the goal, as long as budget permits. For power I'd like to make somewhere in the 500-550whp, the ultimate factor will be how well the drivetrain can handle that task. This isn't a purpose built car just a fun street car I'd like to be able to do a little of everything in roll racing, drag racing, autocross and HPDE. Oh and this is my daily so yeah...we'll see how long that lasts

QUESTION:
I also just purchased a AEM V2, although a friend of mine is interested in trading it for a PTE6262 BB turbo. I'm really only versed in Garrett turbos but I think it might be a little big for what I'm looking for but the chance of me finding a used v-band turbo that will fit my application probably won't come up again so I'm wondering if I should go for it. I could always source another EMS so I'm not really worried about that but I'm interested in s2ki's opinions

I also just wanted to share as tubular top mounts are pretty uncommon and it's a manifold I've never seen before I bought it. Cheers.

I know that kit

If you on a budget SXE362 is a great turbo.
If not GEN2 6466 DBB is amazing turbo for your goals.

The sos kit is nice but its pretty simple to make your own v-mount kit for a fraction of the price. Like alot alot cheaper. So long as you are semi creative and can do a touch of minor fab work its really pretty simple. I chose to put mine further forward but could have just as easily made it to fit like the sos kit. Mine is setup this way more for aero reasons

A 6262 or a 362 are way bigger than what you need, it would be lag for no reason. A 5858 or bw 257sxe would be the sizes you want to look at. PTE are not reliable at all imo. The BW can be had for ~700, but im not sure on the availability of vband turbine housing for them. Keep im mind that ~500whp is the threshold to where you need to start upgrading to some very expensive driveline components. Single disc clutches that can hold that power are usually horrible to try and drive around town on.

i can second that! i have a twin scroll schmuckbuilt manifold on my s2k... no v band though. his work is incredible.

besides that... i have already broke a transmission, and if the car even tries to get traction in 2nd it just explaodes the axles. i normally keep an extra axle with me and the tools to change it on the side of the road...

as of yesterday.. i think i fried the throw out bearing... its got like 4k miles on it.. and is OEM honda. its an on/off clutch.. although i am running the ACT 6lb flywheel also so..

my clutch is some stage 5 something i forget, 4 puck but its brutal.

but if you get better axles, the rear end blows. if you spend the 5k to go with the real rear end.. then you rip the teeth off the trans gears... its all $$$ after 500hp

I’ve got that manifold and the Garrett G25-660; really happy with it so far. Also made my own v-mount. Is that the manifold on FB that cracked at least once?

How much power are you making and what is the spool up time like with that turbo? turbine size?
