Default Daily driver turbo

Hey guys, need a little bit of help here, I have owned my bb 2004 s2000 for about 2 years now, she has around 80k miles, and I'm thinking about throwing a small turbo in there, I drive her a lot, but not too much, I want to just pump up the horsepower and torque by a bit maybe in the 350hp region. Now my real question is, how reliable would the car turn out to be? Are there any of you guys out there who use a turboed s2000, if so what are the problems? thanks a bunch! P.S. I lost my other 3 year old s2ki account

Check out the forced induction sub-forum. There are a few that daily there turbo s2k's but most do not. There is ALOT of information to be found in regards to turbo setups/common problems/and preventive measures to take.

I used to have an AP1 with a Greddy kit making 296whp. Definitely fun and pretty reliable. I didn't have it very long, but the only negative things I can think of are the manifold on them sucked (the cast iron cracked), its kinda a pain in the ass to go through state inspection (not sure if that applies in Canada), the turbo itself needed to be rebuilt, you need a 3" exhaust (pretty loud) and AEM EMS/tune can be pretty expensive. I'd probably do it all over again, but I don't want to molest my current AP1 because it only has 23k miles and I'm broke.

Buy quality parts and get a good tune and the car can be very reliable. It's a good idea to buy yourself a $1000 beater car because things will inevitably happen.

For reliable and 350whp. I would suggest a log manifold setup with something like a Garrett 3071. Nice quick spool and will easily obtain your goals.

Love comments like these FI is FI besides the heat that a turbo makes but you take precautions like any application. Had my SOS kit tuned for a month and sold it because the power band of an centrifugal supercharger is so weak! OP you'll be fine. A good tune and taking precautions of the heat and you'll be good.
