Default Defi Head Up Display

Since I am getting ready to install a Comptech Supercharger, I wanted to research gauge options. I really don't like the idea of bolting ugly gauges (like oil temp, boost, etc...) into my A-pillar or worse yet, bolting them to the dash. I would prefer the most subtle look possible.

While researching stealth gauges, I ran into this setup...Defi Head Up Display

It looks like you can hook it up to monitor all the necessary functions of add on gauges. Plus, it seems very stealthy, has the cool head up display and shift light warning. I'm pretty sure the only thing it can't do is measure "boost". However, it does seem to measure oil pressure, temp, etc... Is anyone here running this unit? If not, will this work on an F.I. application? Or, does it seem like a novelty item?

Thanks

I have their Boost gauge and love it. No messing up the dash and HUD is cool. I'd love to get the Concept VSD but a complete set up with display, controller and sensors is a lot of money.

Hi Guys,

well seems like I'm the only one running the Defi HUD. You now what, I love it!

Currently my car is at my tuner to finally install also the turbo boost gauge from Defi, than I'm set. I already have water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, exhaust temp through my HUD.

One thing I have to say which is the downside so far, I couldn't get the rpm and speed setting correct. The rpm always show about a factor of 1,2x to much, so at 4000 rpm the HUD shows me 4800 rpm and the speeding is completely off. The manual says that you need to set a clock factor or something like that (aka a multiplier) to the speed signal coming from the ECU, but it's always off.

I didn't contacted Defi so far, but other than that it's great even in sunshine.

I currently only have a small vid on my hp for the Defi Display, which I'm about to sell because of the now installed HUD. Once I get my car back, I'll do a new video with the HUD in function.

Bye,

Andreas

I always hated that you had to use that reflective film stuff... Looks funky when the car is not on... IMHO.

Neither did I, it's ok to use it w/o it. Only in bright sunlight with sunglasses on it's hard to read (if you look over your sunglasses, you can read it then again).

I want to buy one of these but nobody seems to have them. I think they stopped production, but does anyone know where I can order from?

Evasive had them on their website a while ago but no longer there
