I wanted to know what options as far as new differentials we could buy for our S2000 once they have gone FI and need the extra support for the harder launches and more aggressive driving style! I am not sure I trie searching on google.com for the various companies I know that make great diffs, but they apparently don't make it for the S2000 anyone know any websites or where to buy such products...Also, I only plan to make around 400-450WHP what diff would support this becuase DO NOT WANT TO BREAK FACTORY DIFF thanks in advance for the information!

from what i am told, the diff isn't the main problem. the diff is weak, but due to the mounts honda used, the diff moves too much during a hard launch. i have an extra set of mounts from my old diff that i am sending to my machine shop to have duplicates made out of metal. the current mounts are rubber, im hoping this and the comp-tech reinforced housing does the trick for the time being, but we will see.

 

Thanks for the quick replies, but to be honest the power I will be making adn the price of the new diff is RIDICULOUS...I am not a balla seriously I am 19 and just got the turbo want want to make sure the diff doesn't blow on me...I know I can't do anything the cheap way..But I doubt I need a if I read it correctly a $2300-$4500 diff for the power I am making and the non-10second goals I have...IDK is there any other option will the Comptech Re-Inforced hold up with the power?

 

no...comptech reinforced diffs still have broken while launching...

 

Back to where I started anything else within a decent price range...Like I know Nissans can get Quaife or Kazz, but what options do we have still tryinhg to find a solution!

 

seriously we don't have any cheap options to choose from other than the bulletproof diff from difftechnics which is a buttload of money....

 

you guys keep thinking it's the differential unit itself. It's not. It's the housing that's weak.

How in the world are the rubber mounts the problem? They are ABSORBING the shock to keep the stress off the differential. Hence why they're made of rubber.
