Default Different Catch Can Setup

My tuner wants to setup my catch can in the following manner...


Has anyone seen this? Is there any harm in keeping vacuum on the catch can at all times?
Please tell me your thoughts.

That´s how many turbo cars are vented from factory but with a "catch can" mounted on the engine instead of in the engine bay.

The only thing I don´t like with this version is that you´ll fill the IC and other parts with dirty oil from the fumes.
A really good baffled catch can will take care of it but very rare.

I think that's the correct way to controll the normal blow-by gases in the engine. The catch can should take care of oil overspray but it requires constant cleaning its practically filtering.

You can do it that way, and it will work, but not preferred imo.

One of the reasons to vent to a catch-can is to eliminate oil vapors from entering the intake tract and cause grime as well as a cause of detonation.

Most people just vent both lines to a catch can w/a filter and call it a day.

This is the most effective way to relieve pressure in the engine because it uses vaccum to suck out pressure instead of just venting it to the atmosphere

While very few people in the s2ki/honda world run setups like these, they are very common eslewhere

As B5254T4 mentioned, you need a good baffle to prevent fumes/oil from getting sucked back into your turbo

the issue with this specific setup is the stock breather hole is too small to vent properly on a high rpm motor.

the velocity of the gases is too high going through that small hole and tends to blow oil out in the process.

Larger holes allow the velocity to be lower so the oil doesn't come out along with the air.

instead of running a hose to the pre turbo intake, i would do a slant cut exhaust evacuation setup, that way nothing is entering the motor....
