Default Engine oil starved, coolant still full, cannot restart engine.

Long story short, a socketless hose from my oil cooler popped off its end, sprayed oil everywhere and created a smoke screen while I was on Thunderhill West. I turned off engine immediately and pulled over. Not knowing what I could do, I cranked my engine twice but it wouldn't start.

Seems like my engine is likely trashed. I plan to have it towed to Blacktrax tomorrow morning in San Jose.

Does anyone know what my options are and the varying costs?

Its ironic that in the effort to protect our engines, we often destroy them.

How long would this engine have lasted if that oil cooler was never installed? Sure, oil would have run hot in the harsh track environment, with engine longevity cut shorter than if oil stayed cooler. But I bet that engine would still be running if no aftermarket oil cooler was ever used.

Hopefully this is a lesson learned, and that others can benefit from the lesson as well.

In life, be careful your efforts do not cause the very thing you are attempting to avoid.

This must have made the track folks unhappy. Good luck, with the fix.
